University Projects

Dissertation Project: Making a House a Home- September 2022- May 2023

This social documentary portraiture project explored the meaning of the 'home'. My subjects were students studying across the city of Leeds, each of whom described their university bedrooms as a safe space for self-expression and relaxation. My photographs were presented in a scrapbook style, with each photograph paired with a personalised collage.
For this project, I worked solely with a medium-format Hasselblad analogue camera.

Beauty Photographer's Roles and Responsibilities- September 2022- January 2023

A contemporary photography project named In the Eye of the Beholder where I explored the roles and responsibilities of photographers within the beauty industry, mainly focusing on agency and the ethics of retouching.
I also investigated the representations of beauty within mainstream media and worked collaboratively with my models in creating images they felt most beautiful in.
For this project, I worked in a studio using digital photography.

Memory Documentation in Photography- January- June 2021

A research project into what makes a memory, and what we do or don't classify as one.
Exploring why we choose to capture these images and how we share/display them to others.
I used predominately analogue photography to document the process.
