ABOUT
MEMORY DOCUMENTATION IN PHOTOGRAPHY
Throughout this project I am going to research into what makes a memory, and what we do or don't classify as one. Questioning why we choose to capture these images and how we share/display them to others.

My photography is almost always a reflection of my memories and all my images mean so much to me, in a deep, emotional way. Which is why I want to explore this in an academic setting, using resources, theories and artists to influence my research and practice.

I want to work with different photographic technologies to create a range of emotionally provoking images that represent my memories and how I view them. These technologies will include new, advanced DSLR's as well as the common disposable camera and 35mm analogue cameras, each representing a different kind of memory we all experience.

The project will allow me to develop my photography skills and think more about the medium I'm using and the reasons behind that. It will allow me to develop my analytical skills and awareness of the idea of aesthetics in photography and why these aesthetics change in different circumstances.
It will also teach me that photography is an ever changing form of media that is completely subjective and up for different interpretations.

I'd like my exhibition to reflect these creative ideas and images, by pushing the boundaries of contemporary art and creating an interactive and self-reflexive discussion space.
