INSPIRATION
This page is full of my inspirations. Here I document a variety of different photographic images and
writings that I will pull inspiration from in both my research and creative application.
David's Disposable @davidsdisposable
An Instagram account run by famous internet star David Dobrik where he posts disposable camera photographs of his famous friends at exclusive events and parties.
AFTER POSTING THIS, DOBRIK HAS RECENTLY COME UNDER FIRE FOR SEVERAL SERIOUS ALLEGATIONS. I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ARTIST AND NO LONGER USE ANY OF HIS PRODUCTS.
60s/70s Photography Aesthetic
When finding inspiration for the aesthetic look and feel of my project I found a lot of 60/70s photographers who's style and tone really influences me. Some of these photographers included Ed van der Elsken (seen above), William Eggleston, Gary Winogrand and Helen Levitt.
The Teenage Aesthetic- Disposable Photography
Similarly to the previous, I went through Pinterest to find ideas the provoked my ideas and shoot ideas. I wanted to explore the type of photography teens often take with each other, revealing the angst, moody vibes with dark and blurry images. Although these photos may not be specifically professionally up to the standard that I'd like, the themes behind them, the events (even though these may be limited at the moment) and the spontaneity of these shoots are what will and have already influenced my work.
The Voices of the Visual in Memory- Barbie Zelizer
"the force of the photographic image is derived from its powerful capacity to represent the real"
"often photography aids the recall of things and events past so effectively that photographs become the primary markers of memory itself"
