Dobrik was one of the first celebrities to capitalise on the trend of using older technologies when creating an Instagram account solely for posting disposable camera photographs in 2019. Throughout the account we see numerous celebrities and internet stars captured in a raw and authentic form, often not seen on their ordinary Instagram accounts. The account has 224 posts and over 3.2 million followers making it very successful photographic account on Instagram, especially due to its amateurish and imperfect nature.
David Dobrik captures images from a number of different events and occasions including the Nickelodeon Choice Awards, red carpets, behind the scenes of professional shoots and a vast amount of parties. The account reflects the personal life of the star and gives us an exclusive behind the scenes look on his life and the people around him. Many of his fans view and like these images as the reflect the aspirational life they wish to achieve and see their favourite celebrities in a real/unedited form.
The David Disposables App...
The vlogger went even further to capitalise on his influence to create an app named after the popular Instagram account. It surpassed one million downloads in just the first three weeks of being on the app store.

The app mirrors the look and feel of a disposable, with similar instructions and set up on the back of the camera, with a flash button, a viewfinder and a section to wind the 'film' up. It also reflects the waiting period that comes along with seeing your disposable photos developed, updating to reveal your photos at 9am the next day.
