Despite their lack of impressive technicalities and often imperfect imagery, disposable cameras remain one of the main features of capturing photography among the younger generation.

Nostalgia

Forgetting what photos you have taken and reliving the memories as you look back the developed images. Flashback to that specific back in the moment in time, in the location you took it, with the people you were spending time with. Many choose to write the dates and names of the events they capture on the back of the photos, recording memories as their parents used to, to replicate the capture of time to show their ancestors.

The vintage aesthetic is a reason why many choose to shoot with disposables, although this varies depending on your developer.

Anticipation

Excitement to pick up photos and see the memories you have captured, it's unlike other forms of photography in this way. Some of the images don't come out well, so many see this as a fun experiment to see what different types of exposures they end up with.

Also creates an element of surprise with this same notion as you don't which images worked well and didn't.

Authentic

They're a candid snapshot of a moment that hardly any other form of photography can replicate. This reveal an authentic reflection of the mood of the environment they're in, with the only adjustment to the image in camera, being the flash.

Physical Copy

Computers can easily crash or break, loosing all the data including the photos and memories you've taken and made. Disposable and analogue cameras don't have this issue as all their data is physical, with rolls of film and printed imagery.
